In an email sent to registered Google Android devs, Google has announced they will perform maintenance on “Android Market Developer Console starting at 10PM on THURSDAY 18 November and ending by 4AM FRIDAY 19 November 2010, Pacific Standard Time.”
This is unusual for Google to send such an email and in fact, this is so unusual that they had to send 2 emails – they had got the times wrong in the first email!
So does it mean they are cooking up an update of the developer console to coincide with the launch of Gingerbread? Does it mean Gingerbread SDK will be launching then?

I’d expect most people know two times; their own timezone’s and GMT/UTC. I think Google should do better than send out a notice referring to PST. UTC should be their first reference and they could then give it shifted to other TZs if they wished.

Quite a good point Ralph. I think I am so used to seeing times expressed in American Pacific or East Coast Time that I didn’t actually notice it but you are quite right, they should use GMT/UTC times.
